After the fireworks were over, the surroundings grew quiet and descended into darkness.

Qiao Xi gazed into the boundless night and asked Bao Fu, “How much dark energy was eliminated this time?”

Bao Fu’s small voice sounded a bit excited

[Master, it’s 10%]

Now, Lu Huo only had 59% of dark energy left.

A gentle evening breeze blew, and Qiao Xi asked, “Has little Lu Huo returned to his old house?”

[Master, he has already gone back]

Qiao Xi responded softly.

The night grew thick, and the moon hid behind the clouds, revealing its crescent shape.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the window. The sound was not loud, but it was clear in the silent night.

Lu Huo had just come out of the study, holding Xi Huo in his hand. He heard the sound of knocking on the window and wheeled himself over.

He pushed open the window, but there was no one outside, just emptiness.

He quietly waited.

After several tens of seconds, the girl couldn’t contain her curiosity anymore. She stood up from below the window and met Lu Huo’s dark and calm gaze.

“Why don’t you seem surprised at all?” Qiao Xi looked at the boy in the window, dressed in navy blue pajamas.

His refined features carried a hint of coldness, different from his cute and childish appearance.

Little Lu Huo had grown up.

He had grown up healthily and became a handsome young man.

Qiao Xi blinked, and the sourness in her chest lessened a bit.

Lu Huo’s dark eyes looked at her, and he chuckled. “No one else would come except you.”

Even though he was telling the truth, she should have been content. After all, in Lu Huo’s world, there was only her, and he could only be with her.

But Qiao Xi wasn’t happy. She didn’t want Lu Huo’s world to be lonely and desolate. She wanted him to live freely and happily, with trusted friends by his side.

He didn’t have to shine or be dazzling. As long as he was happy every day, it would be enough.

Qiao Xi leaned closer to the windowsill, reducing the distance between them. “What are you doing?”

“Reading,” Xi Huo was struggled in his hand, trying to jump towards Qiao Xi. His big hand tightened, and the soft snowball couldn’t move at all.

He looked at the girl outside the window. “It’s late. Why did you suddenly come to see me?”

“I missed you, so I came to see you,” Qiao Xi was straightforward. Her beautiful big eyes stared at Lu Huo intently, as if she had come just to catch a glimpse of him.

Lu Huo tightened his grip, and the struggling Xi Huo quickly intensified.

It was going to die. It was going to be crushed!

“Lu Huo, come closer,” Qiao Xi said.

Lu Huo’s wheelchair turned, bringing him closer to the girl outside the window.

The next second, she acted like a mischievous little troublemaker. Her waist crossed over the windowsill, leaning down, and she reached out to vigorously ruffle his hair.

His black short hair instantly became dishevelled, and his messy bangs covered his features.

The boy had a hint of childishness about him.

Qiao Xi withdrew her hand, satisfied and proud. “I’m leaving.”

Inside the window, Lu Huo looked up, watching the girl’s figure recede into the distance. His attractive thin lips curled up little by little.

He released the plump and round body of Xi Huo that had been steadily growing bigger. He had a messy head of hair and chuckled. “Your owner is really mischievous, not lovable at all.”

On top of his head, the small leaf bud swayed left and right.

Xi Huo quickly sprang out from his big hand and jumped off Lu Huo’s leg.

Only a snow-white round figure remained for Lu Huo. It was you who caused the mischief, almost suffocating it!

The next day, the sun was bright.

Qiao Xi had classes in the morning and needed to go to school. When she went downstairs, she happened to run into Zhao Yuxi.

Qiao Xi already knew that Zhao Yuxi needed to plant 500 trees this time. Looking at the other person dressed in sporty pants and long sleeves, with a tightly covered appearance, it was clear that she was going to plant trees later.

“Good morning, Xiaoxi.” It had been a few days, and the red pimples on Zhao Yuxi’s face had almost disappeared.

Qiao Xi nodded, her eyes showing some interest. “Are you going to plant trees again today?”

Zhao Yuxi’s expression froze for a moment. “Why are you suddenly asking about this?”

“Last time you went to plant trees, you dressed like this.”

Zhao Yuxi didn’t want to be discovered doing the task, so she quickly explained, “It was just a coincidence. I was just meeting a friend. How could I end up planting trees?”

Qiao Xi nodded, a playful smile in her eyes. “I thought you had a hobby of planting trees.”

The smile on Zhao Yuxi’s face was faint. “You misunderstood. My hobbies are only dancing, painting, and writing. Are you going to school now?”

Qiao Xi responded with a simple “Hmm.”

Zhao Yuxi felt a bit regretful. She had reincarnated too late.

In the past, during high school, her grades were poor, and her thoughts were never focused on studying. She only managed to enter a third-rate university, and graduating was equivalent to being unemployed. She mostly just idled around on campus. Now she was in her third year, and she couldn’t be bothered to attend classes anymore, just waiting to obtain her graduation certificate.

If she had been able to reincarnate earlier, during middle school or high school, she would have made a determined effort to study hard and get into a top-tier university.

As for the hobbies she mentioned, they were all things that Qiao Xi liked.

In the past, when she followed her mother to the Qiao family’s house and entered the villa, she saw Qiao Xi coming out after just finishing a dance. Even after two lifetimes, she could never forget the stunning sight at that moment.

The girl was wearing a white ballet dress, and her slender and long legs were wrapped in white tights. She walked slowly, and her not yet fully developed features were already astonishingly beautiful.

At that moment, Zhao Yuxi truly realized that she and Qiao Xi lived in completely different worlds. Qiao Xi was like a beautiful princess, cherished and living in an ivory tower.

After they returned that day, she cried and asked her mother to enrol her in dance classes. She started learning late, and her physical condition made ballet unsuitable for her. As a result, she only learned some basic moves.

As for painting, during her high school years, she saw Qiao Xi sitting in the yard, wearing a pure white dress, with fair skin and dark hair, quietly sketching the scenery in the yard under the sunlight.

She had to admit that the flowers in the entire yard couldn’t compare to Qiao Xi’s beauty.

When she went home, she asked her mother to buy art supplies for her. She wanted to learn how to paint. However, she had no knowledge of painting and gave up after less than three months.

During the Lunar New Year, the relatives around her praised Qiao Xi’s beautiful handwriting. They knew that Qiao Xi practiced calligraphy every day, so she went to buy calligraphy copybooks.

Not long after, she lost her copybooks.

Recalling all of this, Zhao Yuxi felt regretful.

As she looked at Qiao Xi walking ahead, her gaze couldn’t help but fall on Qiao Xi’s waist. It was because Qiao Xi had been practicing dance since childhood that her waist was slender and flexible. Even her posture while walking was more graceful and attractive than others.

Zhao Yuxi felt uncomfortable deep inside. She didn’t think she was inferior to Qiao Xi. She simply lacked the natural advantages that Qiao Xi had, starting from childhood.

Qiao Xi had no idea about the various regrets in Zhao Yuxi’s heart.

When she arrived at the art studio for class, Ye Zixin and Fang Tang had already arrived.

Seeing her, Ye Zixin quickly waved her hand. “Xiao Xi, you took a leave of absence yesterday?”

“Yeah, had something to do.” Qiao Xi had taken Little Lu Huo to the zoo yesterday and didn’t attend the morning or afternoon classes.

Ye Zixin was having breakfast and said, “In yesterday’s class, the teacher asked us to draw Buddha statues. I guess we’ll continue today.”

They weren’t drawing simple ordinary Buddha statues, but rather highly complex ancient Buddha images with many intricate lines. Since it was a foundational class, the teacher had them practice drawing Buddha statues extensively to improve their meticulous brushwork.

Ye Zixin mumbled, “I’m prepared to stay up late and go bald. It’s all about working hard every day.”

Thinking of something, she winked at Qiao Xi. “I heard that we’re going to have a human figure drawing class in a few days.”

Qiao Xi nodded, her face showing no signs of excitement or curiosity. Seeing tomato sauce on Ye Zixin’s mouth, she smiled and handed her a tissue. “Wipe your mouth.”

Ye Zixin quickly took the tissue and wiped her mouth. “Xiao Xi, you’re so pretty, it’s making me drool.”

Ye Zixin made up her mind. From now on, she would sit next to Qiao Xi in class, looking at her face every day. She also wanted to draw Qiao Xi. It would be a waste not to capture such a beautiful face on paper.

Qiao Xi was amused by her, and she looked towards the other side, where Fang Tang was quietly biting into a bread roll. She noticed that the green energy on her hand had dropped from 12% to 10%. She had no idea what had happened yesterday to cause her green energy to decrease.

She took out a bottle of milk from her bag. It was prepared by her mother. “Tang Tang, please have some.”

Fang Tang paused her action of biting into the bread roll and looked at the milk in front of her with surprise.

“Take it, eating the bread roll alone will be dry.” Qiao Xi smiled at her.

Fang Tang took the milk with a pleasantly surprised expression. “Thank you.”

“Ah, Xiao Xi, you’re treating Tang Tang to milk.” Ye Zixin looked at Fang Tang with envy. She also wanted to receive Qiao Xi’s “favor”!

“Don’t you already have juice?” Qiao Xi asked Fang Tang, “Your complexion seems a bit pale. Did you not rest well last night?”

“I know about that.” Ye Zixin told Qiao Xi, “Tang Tang worked a part-time job yesterday and came back right before the dormitory closed.”

“Part-time job?” Qiao Xi received the information that Bao Fu had given her and knew about Fang Tang’s family situation. Fang Tang’s father had been deceived and all the funds he invested were taken away by the other party, which resulted in their family’s company going bankrupt and accumulating heavy debts. In order to repay the debts, her parents had to sell off all their assets and now they could only live in a rented house.

Fang Tang, who used to be pampered and spoiled, blushed with embarrassment. She admitted honestly, “Yes, I’m doing part-time jobs to earn some living expenses.”

Originally, she didn’t want to go to college because the tuition fees for studying fine arts were not low, and buying art supplies was also costly. But her father insisted that she go, and in order to cover living expenses and the next year’s tuition, she needed to work part-time to earn money.

Qiao Xi understood her situation and didn’t ask further. “If you have any difficulties, you can tell me. I can help you.”

Fang Tang had single eyelids, but unlike other small-eyed individuals, her eyes were big and beautiful. Upon hearing Qiao Xi’s words, she looked at her sincerely, her eyes shimmering with moisture.

Since the incident happened in her family, relatives have been avoiding them. No one is willing to have any contact with her family, let alone offer help.

Fang Tang whispered, “Thank you.”

She was grateful that someone was willing to lend a helping hand in difficult times.

“Xiao Xi, you’re really kind.” Ye Zixin noticed that Qiao Xi didn’t have any arrogance or haughtiness of a rich or beautiful person. She loved Qiao Xi even more. Who needs to chase after celebrities? Those female stars can’t compare to Qiao Xi’s beauty.

She turned her head and said to Fang Tang, “Tang Tang, if you have any difficulties, you must tell me. Although I don’t have any special skills, besides eating, maybe someday I’ll be useful.”

Fang Tang nodded gratefully, “Thank you, both of you.”

During the class, the teacher indeed asked everyone to continue drawing Buddha statues.

At the beginning, Qiao Xi felt a bit unfamiliar, but as she continued, her lines became more flexible, lively, and smooth. The thickness, intensity, and lightness were all accurate. Even the teacher stood behind her nodding continuously.

Next to her, Ye Zixin became distracted while drawing.

She leaned over to look at Qiao Xi’s artwork and couldn’t help but admire. Who said that good-looking people were just pretty faces? Qiao Xi not only looked beautiful but also had amazing drawing skills!

After school, Qiao Xi went to find Lu Huo at the Lu family’s house. She wanted to take him out for dinner.

Inside the small house, knowing that Qiao Xi would come, Lu Huo put aside his clingy thoughts and turned his wheelchair, going into the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror.

He ran his hand through his messy bangs and tidied his clothes. Once he was satisfied that everything was in order, he returned to the window, holding a book.

“Lu Huo, have you been waiting long?” Qiao Xi reached in through the window and took his book.

Lu Huo looked up. “I wasn’t waiting for you.”

Above their heads, the lovely little leaf bud swayed.

Qiao Xi looked at him with a smile. “Come out, I’ll take you out for dinner.”

Lu Huo’s gaze fell on the girl’s face, which had a touch of yellow paint on her snow-white skin.

He spoke, “Lower your head.”

“Hmm?” Qiao Xi didn’t understand at first.

“Come closer.”

Qiao Xi bent down and leaned closer to him, and then she saw Lu Huo take a tissue from the side and wipe her face.

“Is my face dirty?”

“Hmm.”

“Dry tissues won’t remove it, I need water.” Qiao Xi remembered that she had attended a color class in the afternoon, and that’s when the paint had gotten on her.

Qiao Xi thought of something and went into the small house to wet the tissue in the bathroom.

She approached Lu Huo with the wet tissue in hand and sat down beside him. “Help me wipe it off.” She handed him the wet tissue and obediently sat still, tilting her face up to look at him.

Lu Huo didn’t refuse. With one hand holding Qiao Xi’s chin, he used the other hand to wipe off the paint on her face.

His fingers were slightly cool, with a slight callus, pressing against Qiao Xi’s jawline, and she felt a bit ticklish.

“Don’t move,” Lu Huo’s fingers tightened slightly.

Qiao Xi obediently stayed still, her dark and watery eyes staring straight at him. Her porcelain-like face looked stunning under the light, with a soft and pale complexion.

The paint dots on her snowy cheeks added a touch of cuteness.

Lu Huo didn’t dare to look for too long; he lowered his eyes.

The skin beneath his fingertips was fair, smooth, and delicate, with a pleasant touch. He intentionally lightened his touch.

Qiao Xi’s gaze fell on Lu Huo’s lips.

His lips were lightly colored, beautifully shaped, thin, with a slight curl at the corners, tempting and inviting for a kiss. She playfully teased him, “Lu Huo, in a few days, we’ll have a human anatomy class. How about I draw a portrait for you? I haven’t drawn a human figure before.”

Just the thought of drawing for Lu Huo made Qiao Xi’s mind wander. Oh, she couldn’t help but have wicked thoughts. It would be so exciting.

Although Lu Huo couldn’t walk with his legs, they were long, and he had a good physique. If he took off his clothes, it would be quite a sight.

The girl’s unexpected words made Lu Huo’s fingers tighten.

“Don’t squeeze my chin so hard.” Qiao Xi gave him a disdainful glance. “Are you that excited? Did you agree to it?”

“No,” Lu Huo’s face flushed. He released his hand, and that delicate and petite chin had turned slightly red. Indeed, she was quite delicate.

He threw the tissue into the trash can and then positioned himself, distancing himself from Qiao Xi. “That’s enough.”

“My drawing skills are pretty good. I won’t make you look ugly. Last time, I made you look very handsome,” Qiao Xi tilted her face upward, trying hard to sell herself.

Lu Huo glanced at her softly. The last time she drew him, he was so angry that he tore it up.

“I won’t let you draw,” Lu Huo shook his head.

“Why not? Don’t overthink it. Just consider it as dedicating yourself to art,” Qiao Xi instructed him. “It’s a noble art. Don’t be shy. In my eyes, you’ll only be muscles and lines. I won’t have any other thoughts.”

How absurd!

Unable to resist, Lu Huo reached out and pinched her snowy cheek. “I won’t agree.”

He knew what his body was like—thin, unattractive, with two legs that were extremely ugly.

Such an ugly body, if drawn, would only tarnish her eyes.

Qiao Xi snorted and didn’t say anything more. Anyway, one day, she would make him beg her to draw him!

Qiao Xi thought it would take a long time, but she didn’t expect that day to come so soon.
